Los Angeles based Bingo Furniture Design and Millwork is a pursuit of creating unique and playful custom furniture and millwork projects of heirloom quality. A multiplayer game in collaboration with my wife, artist Jovi Schnell; lively mixed material expressions and vibrant color are joined to traditional woodcraft. Our aesthetic embraces the spirit of early modernism as much as the grace of Japanese and other traditional design.
I learned woodworking professionally, beginning as a cabinetmaker at the Guggenheim Museum in New York before 8 years with The Berkeley Millwork and Furniture Company, in Berkeley, CA. Moving to Los Angeles, I managed high end residential millwork installations while beginning a furniture design practice of my own. Bingo is the focused realization of that effort. The pieces below are building blocks which can be expressed as they are or with new variation, function or materials.
